Left house in the morning at 6.30am. Traffic was smooth when I took 83-161-Woodlands to Kranji MRT route. Everybody was there at 7.30am sharp. Something is good with our time concept. We took a bus to the checkpoint and to eat the Kam Long Curry fish head at Johor Bahru. Such a satisfying breakfast although curry fish head may be too taxing for our fresh stomachs in the morning. Despite that, it provided us with the the fuel it provided. Very nice red snapper curry fish head with lady fingers and tau kees. Those soaked with curry is so Ooo. After which, we left for a place called Titi (the name is so tickling) or something to collect out collect our Proton 7 seater MPV. Then, it's a 2hour drive up Kluang.
Upon reaching the town, we stopped by for the Kluang railway coffee. I'm a tea drinker, so I can't really appreciate the Coffee, but I think it has a smooth taste. We had some butter with Kaya toast which is good.
We went around to search for accommodation and finally settled at the eco resort. Which, in my opinion, can't be categorized as a resort. But on good thing is that it's located high up in the hill and the air's pretty good.
We had some Roti Pratas, Pork and Meat balls and left for a shopping mall to get some Chips and Beer (Ooo, Corona and Carlsberg) and to Ah Foo for dinner. They have unique bbq-ed Stingray and Squid, Satay and AiYu desert. I like the Desert with sea coconuts and the special bursting nata de coco balls. After which, we left for the hostel (as I would like to call it) and played card games mainly Bridge. And later HTHT (only a little).
After HTHT, we went out. The moon was so bright that night and the sky was full of clouds. So, instead of stargazing, we had a moon-tan session.
The second day, we woke up for Kluang's famous Bak Kut Teh. How nice? It's nice enough for us to eat that two days in a row. Primarily made up of pork ribs cooked a rich herbal soup. It has tau kees and it also had a pig organs version. I like the Pig trotters cooked with dried chilli. The rich collagen in the fats is Ahhh. Sticky and so good. We visited some roadside Chendol stall and had some peanut Meechiamkueh (pancake).
After which, we went back to park the car and start our climb. It's two o'clock. We went up gradual slopes. But who knows, 15minutes into the climb, we saw steep slope which is like 70degrees? We were like 'Whoa', but I think everybody is secretly trying to try on this. We completed the ascent and descent in 3hours and 30 minutes.
We washed up, went to MarryBrown (Msia style of KFC) for some 'appetizers' and to 128 restaurant for seafood. We loved the tofu, porkribs and fried long beans. The fresh steamed fish was alright, but think it's better cooked in HongKong style. Leave the Teochew style to Pomfret. I love Seafood.
It's quite an early night. And on the 8th, we left for Singapore. We stopped by the railway station and the Kluang coffeeshop again. Everybody watched 'Wrath of the titans' at Citisquare before leaving for Singapore.
We had 3 Capricorns and 3 Virgos on the trip. Is it a coincidence or what? We ate, share and laugh alot. Although we never had the 'Shuang' massage after all.
My friends taught me the bridge game and I am starting to like it (but I still don't know how to bid). 70% satisfaction from me. Another 30%, never mind, no need to mention it.
We spent only 150SGD pp for this trip. Nice huh. We eat, we climbed. Fun filled.
